Dr. Tara Shajan

About Me:

Dr. Tara Shajan, RN, PhDH, MSN, MBA, PHMBC and a dynamic healthcare leader currently serving as the Director and Executive Administrator of Psychiatry at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital. Graduated from Armed forces medical college Pune with BSN and obtained her MSN in nursing leadership and MBA in healthcare administration from Grand Canyon University. In 2018 she was awarded a honorary PhD in Humanitarian and civil rights. With a distinguished nursing leadership career since 2012, she brings the discipline and resilience of her Army training to every role she undertakes.

A multifaceted individual, Dr. Shajan is also a licensed private pilot and has embraced the world of fashion, walking the runway at New York Fashion Week since 2023.

She currently serves as the Vice President of the National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA) and has led numerous community outreach initiatives through NAINA and the Indian Nurses Association of New York (INANY). A seasoned debater, she has appeared on several national platforms, passionately advocating for healthcare issues. Dr. Shajan is a well-accomplished nurse leader whose versatility and dedication continue to inspire many.
